Stephanie’s background includes working at the Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office concentrating primarily on cases involving domestic violence and prosecuted several high-profile cases. As a Maxwell fellow she worked at the Legal Assistance Foundation in Chicago exclusively with clients who were survivors of domestic violence on cases that included orders of protection, divorce and child custody. She is 40-hour trained in domestic violence issues.

In 2013, she received the Rickert Award for Excellence in Advocacy and was a Trial Team competitor at the University of Illinois College of Law. As an adjunct professor at the U of I, Stephanie coaches the College of Law Trial Team.

Stephanie is a member of the Champaign County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the East Central Illinois Women’s Attorney’s Association. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Girls Go For It.

Stephanie graduated with a BA in International Relations from Michigan State University. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign.

Stephanie lives with her husband, Scott, and their dog, Piper.
