The law firm of Meyer Capel, A Professional Corporation was founded when August C. Meyer, Jr., James L. Capel, Jr. and John C. Hirschfeld began practicing law together in the early 1960s. Their fathers had been lawyers in the Champaign-Urbana community since the 1920s.
Over the years, Meyer Capel, has grown steadily in both size and stature. Today, we are the largest, most diversified law firm in Champaign County, offering our clients a range of services and a legal presence unequaled by any other law firm in the area.
Much of our firm's rapid growth in the last decade can be attributed to a solid commitment to respond quickly, accurately and efficiently to the needs and desires of our clients. Meyer Capel employs 29 attorneys, each a respected member of the legal community and each dedicated to providing the highest caliber of legal advice and services. Our attorneys are active on the local, county and state levels; three are past presidents of the Champaign County Bar Association.
Our firm is large enough to accommodate many areas of legal concentration. Our attorneys work individually and as a team. We are, therefore, able to provide our clients with a full range of legal services at a fair price.
